In The Homecoming, Daphne and Emmett plan a fundraiser for Carlton and Daphne figures out that Emmett is dating Bay when she sees pictures of Bay in the walls. Bay doesn't tell her about her relationship with Emmett. However, when Bay returns to the house to tell Daphne about Emmett being in a relationship with her, Daphne confesses to her that she figured out that she has feelings for Emmett. They decide that Bay should tell Daphne about them being together. He apologizes for not telling Daphne about them. He guides her to the billboard, where she sees that he tagged the billboard for her with her art.
Emmett later waits for her in her art studio and tells her that it's not a scarf, it's a blindfold. Bay sees this and Emmett assures her that Melody will like her, but Bay points out that it means that Melody doesn't like her now.īay opens Emmett's gift and finds a scarf, which is nothing compared to Daphne's gift, which is a poster of Deafenstein, an ASL movie. Melody notices that both of them have been hurt and questions Emmett about it, expressing her disgust for Bay. While escaping from the cops, Bay hurts her hand and Emmett hurts his side. Later, they try to achieve Bay's dream of tagging the billboard, but are unsuccessful. He expresses his interest in taking up speech therapy, which Melody isn't thrilled about and blames Bay for all the changes in Emmett's behavior. She doesn't look happy about her son hanging out with a hearing girl.
She is worried that they won't communicate properly due to Bay being hearing and Emmett being deaf. They hang out at his house and Melody finds out about it. She tells him that her dream is to tag a billboard so that everyone can see her art. In Paradise Lost, Bay confesses to Emmett about her street art. She realized that he couldn't understand her so she almost broke up with him, but he pulls her back to him and comforts her. She leaves the room, not without reminding Emmett to take his camera so that he can take more pictures of Daphne.īay turned to him for comfort at the end of the episode, when she found out that Regina knew about the switch for a long time. She believes him until she tries to tell him about her art, but can't because Daphne is calling Emmett repeatedly. He assures her that they are just friends and even goes as far as almost breaking a picture of Daphne. Emmett seems visibly uncomfortable, so Bay asks him to go back to kissing, since they do that really well.īay and Emmett go to his house, where Bay is surprised by lots of pictures of Daphne. Bay reminds him that she's still learning sign language and she was wondering if meanwhile, he could try to speak with his voice. Those questions lead to Bay asking him if he ever speaks with his voice, to what he answers that he doesn't need to. Later, they're making out in the park and Bay asks Emmett about a few words in sign language. He asks her if she's finished, and when she says that she is, he kisses her again. In Pandora's Box, Bay goes to Carlton to see Emmett and starts wondering if he's just using her to get to Daphne or if he really liked her. Emmett assures her that nothing is going on, but later goes to Buckner Hall and confesses to Bay that he likes her and kisses her, leaving her speechless and shocked.
Daphne grows suspicious and asks him if anything was going on between the two of them. In The Stag Hunt, Emmett continued helping Bay to find her father and even goes as far as going with her and Daphne to the night club where they thought he worked. They started hanging out as friends in The Persistence of Memory, where Emmett helped Bay discover who her biological father really is. Emmett and Bay met each other in This Is Not a Pipe, when Emmett picked up Daphne from the Kennish house.
